Return of the Stepsister: The Many Makeovers of Booty Farm.
Rachel’s Season 2 is a peculiar event in many ways. She’s the first girl to get a bonafide sequel! We’ve long thought about event sequels, and the stellar success of Rachel’s first appearance made it clear that this girl could handle some hot experimentation action.
Girls Menu
If you’ve been following Tender Times, you’re aware that we’re rolling out a major makeover. The UI is our next priority because the game has become too big for its format. Our current menus were designed to fit the base game and could never hold over 30 girls – we’re releasing three to four events per month, which is bonkers by casual game standards.
The exact moment we started drafting new UI was when we introduced animations. They look weird in the gallery, next to static photos. Also, the Girls Menu requires too much sidescrolling. Events like Snow Storm, Thanksgiving, and MC’s Birthday are hard to represent in this format because they have an ensemble cast. If you’re a college girl Emma fan, you’d want to look at all of Emma’s appearances, not just her main story, right?
This turned into a bigger task than we anticipated because it’s not just cosmetics – the Girls Menu has to be redesigned and recoded.
Keeping in mind the upcoming Girls Menu, we made a strange decision – stepsister Rachel 2 got a whole new tab in the Girls Menu. An odd choice, but it will help us out a lot when we roll out the new Girls Menu.
Event Resources
This is another instance of the game becoming too big for its mechanics. Booty Farm is a very popular adult sim game with enough players for us to make analytically guided decisions. Until recently, event completion was… hmm, disbalanced to say the least.
It was very easy for a high-level casual player to complete a 7-day event in 3 days, tops. Low-level casual players could at the same tempo barely make it in time. The number of players who received entire event stories was disheartening, and this was due to our default event design – very forgiving IF you’re an experienced player. Trimming the 3-token orders and making them easier leveled out the playing field. Towards the end of the event, there’s no drop in the percentage of players who finished the whole event, but they’re evenly distributed between high-level and low-level players. And we’re seeing more daily active players and order completion, too.
We will continue balancing out event orders so that players of varying levels of engagement can complete events without jeopardizing daily retention.
Incumming Big Changes
Speaking of disbalance, how ’bout that train?
The train feature runs on an algorithm that was Due Not Done. Because it dishes out some sweet rewards, including a lot of crystals, we wanted the orders to be on the tough side. The trouble is that it’s too tough – some of the Booty Farm train orders are virtually impossible to complete without speeding up production with crystals. We are currently polishing the train’s algorithm to pay more attention to the player’s storage and the time it takes to complete the rest of the orders..
We also plan to make train orders more attractive to players by making the reward drops less random and easier to track.
It’s been a long time coming – the level cap increase! This is just to inform you that the level cap is programmed out and we are designing the art assets for new buildings and crops. We’re unlocking levels 40- 50 this Spring, and when that happens, you’ll start seeing more of her around…
New Girl
Next up – the Valentines Event. We’re bringing back Miss V, but you won’t recognize her. This supernatural spirit of Love and Lust has chosen a different regular girl to be her Champion this year. Who will it be? Find out on February 10th (Patreon fans have already met her).

Long Lost Lust
We talked before about how the narrative in Long Lost Lust will be presented in a very different format from the visual novels you know. It’s going to be a bit more akin to a dynamic comic book.
